Takemusu Aikido
"When an enemy comes at you, meet him and greet him; when he wants to retreat, send him on his way".
Ō-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba
Aikido is a Japanese martial art, which was developed in the 20th century by Ō-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba. It has its roots in Daitoryu Aiki-jutsu and other traditional Japanese martial arts, which is why weapons such as the wooden sword (bokken) and the walking stick (jo) play an important role in training. They are used to learning and perfecting the basic body movements. The body techniques of Aikido (Tai-Jutsu) are based on two principles:
using biomechanical functions of the joints for leverages.
using the opponent's force and redirecting it.
Our master was Shihan Edmund Kern, Kyoshi 8th Dan Aikido (*1932 †2017, Germany). In his 50 years of practice, he was a student of Saito Morihiro Sensei for 18 years, who was a student of the founder of Aikido, Ō-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba, for 23 years and also a lineage holder of the tradition. That means that we are part of a very direct lineage connected back to the origins of Aikido.
Our roots are Takemusu Aiki Iwama ryu with its sophisticated system of basics - (kihon waza) and weapons - (buki waza).
As a Japanese martial art, it trains not only physical coordination and agility but also values such as self-discipline, respect and perseverance.

Viktor started practicing Aikido in 1998 in Liberec. He was student (deshi) of Shihan Kyoshi Edmund Kern-Sensei, 8. Dan Aikido until his passing in 2017. Kern-Sensei was a direct student of Morihiro Saito Sensei, 9. Dan Aikido in Japan, who himself was learning directly with the founder O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba.
Aikido has been playing a major role in Viktor’s life and as a passionate student he participated in countless Aikido seminars, immersions and uchi-deshi (house-student) trainings over the past 26 years.
Together with his life-long Aikido comrades, Viktor has founded the Kita no Yama jori Takemusu Aiki Dokokai Dojo in Liberec in 2002, where he is still practicing and teaching today.
Further influences on his Budo path are Yamaue-Ryu Aiki-Jutsu, Kyudo, Kyusho-Jutsu, Kendo and White Dragon Gung-Fu.
